A Passion Born Early
Born on January 19, 1989, in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. His journey into the world of art began as early as age three, fueled by an instinctive love for drawing and sculpting. As a self-taught artist during his formative years, he nurtured this passion, which eventually led him to pursue formal training at the College of Education Ekiadolor-Benin. There, he earned National Certificate for Education (NCE) in Fine and Applied Arts.
From Teaching to Freelance Artistry
Between 2012 and 2015, his career began by teaching art in primary and secondary schools in Benin City. In this role, he shared his knowledge and inspired young minds. Later, transitioned to freelance artistry, specializing in sculptural installations using cement and metal, as well as vibrant mural paintings. These art forms allow him to express complex ideas and connect with audiences in profound ways.
Artist Statement
As an artist, I find inspiration in the deep connections between humanity, culture, and nature. My work explores identity, environmental balance, and the strength of traditions through sculptures, murals, and storytelling. Each piece is made from cement and metal or painted on large surfaces. It represents a conversation between the past and present, as well as the physical and the abstract.
I also focus on cultural research to highlight overlooked traditions and unique art forms, integrating their essence into modern stories. My fascination with tribal arts and global diversity drives my passion for sharing underrepresented narratives and connecting audiences to our shared cultural heritage. For me, art is not just expression; it’s a powerful advocacy tool. I aim to foster understanding and inspire action through initiatives like Worldwide Art Advocacy, encouraging engagement with my creations and supporting global artists to have professional success in diverse art forms.
Each piece aims to bridge cultures, reflecting the beauty of traditional and contemporary art while offering new perspectives. My work includes various styles and techniques, from relief sculptures and life-sized figures in the round to mural paintings in natural forms, abstract concepts, geometric patterns, and stylized designs.
